We at Davinci Custom Carpentry believe in being an ecologically responsible company. Sometimes this practice is not the easiest, cheapest or quickest means to an end, but the satisfaction of lessening our impact on the enviroment, for our children and their children, is worth the inconvenience.  Although we are as "green" a contractor as possible on all of our projects, we will offer an option on specific jobs to be "green to the extreme".

STANDARD GREEN PRACTICES

 All spray foam insulation used is a soy-based completely biodegradable product.

All light bulbs used in new fixtures will be CFL (compact fluorescent light) that use an average of 75% less energy than standard incandescent bulbs.

All ductwork used in expanding your existing heating / airconditioning system will be insulated. This allows your system to work much more efficiently, thus using less energy. This is not a normal practice among  most contractors.

We will re-use or recycle for later projects, as many raw materials, such as wood studs and  fiberglas insulation as is practical to lessen the load on our landfills. We strive to create as little waste on every job as we can.

EXTREME GREEN OPTIONS

Replacement vinyl windows can be upgraded to double low E glass, with argon gas between the glass panes.This type window construction is approved by the US government for the Energy Tax Credit.

All primers and paints used can be changed to low VOC, biodegradable "green" paint.

Kitchen and bath faucets water saving fixtures are promoted. 

Cellulose insulation can be used in attics  instead of fiberglas batt insulation or spray foam. Cellulose is considered a "greener" product than foam, because it is made from recycled newspaper.

We can install a programmable thermostat for your existing heating / AC system. These units can save up to 50% in utility costs over old dial type thermostats.
